BEFFTA UK 2012 NOMINATIONS OFFICIALLY OPEN
As the London Olympics open, the global Black Entertainment Film Fashion and TV awards(BEFFTA) is back in London for the 4th year. The prestigious and unique red carpet award ceremony celebrating both known and unknown talented personalities in entertainment, film, fashion, TV and arts has officially opened the public nominations.
Members of the public are encouraged to nominate personalities from various showbiz sectors including musicians, Dj’s, promoters, fashion designers, models, TV stations, TV personalities, beauty queens, beauty pageant directors, comedians, film directors, music producers, actors, actresses, poets/spoken word artists, journalists, bloggers, fashion choreographers, radio stations, radio personalities, presenters and more.
The 4th Annual BEFFTA UK is set to take place on 27th October at the Hippodrome, Golders Green with special guests from Canada, USA, Australia, Africa, Caribbean and Europe.
“Like every year we are hoping to open opportunities to hard-working and talented African/Caribbean personalities in entertainment, film, fashion, television and arts. The BEFFTA team has been carrying out research on potential nominees but it is now time to invite the public to join in and send us their nominees. Being nominated is an honour and we at BEFFTA feel it is important to reward and recognise talent,” said BEFFTA founder Pauline Long
The public nominations will close on 14th September 2012. BEFFTA UK awards final nomination list will be decided by a special panel of eight BEFFTA Members.
As the public nominations opens up, BEFFTA awards which is Europe’s biggest award ceremony for African/Caribbean personalities invites sponsorship and partnership from individuals and organisations.

Following the inaugural 1st annual BEFFTA USA that took place in Atlanta in 2011 the date of the 2nd annual BEFFTA USA will be announced shortly. The global BEFFTA brand in USA, UK and soon launching in Africa and Caribbean founded by Pauline Long stands for BLACK ENTERTAINMENT FILM FASHION TELEVISION AND ARTS AWARDS.
BEFFTA USA has NOT been re-branded. The unique prestigious award ceremony honours black and ethnic personalities in entertainment, film, fashion, television and arts in UK, USA, Africa and the Caribbean. Among personalities honoured at BEFFTA USA 2011 were producer and film director Tyler Perry, celebrity hairstylist Dwight Eubank and more.
The global brand BEFFTA awards was founded by Pauline Long in the UK purely to give back and celebrate a community with so many achievers who contribute immensely in film, fashion, television and arts. It has been 365 days of researching on BEFFTA nominees and BEFFTA founder who believes in being hands on has been at the forefront of it. Members of the public and BEFFTA Members sent in their nominations with the final decision made by the panel of BEFFTA Members. Today as we mark the beginning of Black History Month BEFFTA awards too marks the beginning of a campaign dubbed as 14 days of showing love and discovering the nominees.
Pauline Long said, “I would like to welcome every black and ethnic person to celebrate the Black History Month by showing love and support not only to BEFFTA awards UK 2011 nominees through voting but to all African/Caribbean businesses, organisations, charities and projects. As BEFFTA awards UK begins it’s 14 day campaign of showing love and discovering the nominees through web-voting, there is a new magazine that the public will be reading to find out more about the talented nominees in entertainment, film, fashion, television and arts.
The BEFFTA magazine which is an extension of the awards ceremony and BEFFTA TV show will be going live online shortly with the print version available on 22nd October at the red carpet prestigious award ceremony. The award ceremony is committed to promoting and appreciating black and ethnic personalities in entertainment, film, fashion, television and arts.
